KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 (Bernama) -- National diver Elvis Priestly Anak Clement expressed relief after scoring above 400 points again in the men’s 10-metre platform event at the National Diving Trials Championship at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil today.
He said the score has, to some extent, boosted his confidence as he is still recovering from a spinal injury.
“At the moment I am still trying to regain my confidence, and I can say my performance today was not at 100 per cent.
“After this, I will try to give my best and regain the confidence I had lost previously,” he said when met after the competition.
Elvis also hopes that his current performance can be maintained to improve his chances of qualifying for the 2026 Asian Games in September.
The Sarawak-born diver topped the men’s 10m platform event after amassing a total of 412.90 points from six dives.
The score also surpassed the Minimum Qualification Score (MQS) of 380 set by Malaysia Aquatics for the event.
Also surpassing the MQS at the meet were Muhd Anilrian Normatrud Abdullah and Bertrand Rhodict Lises, who collected 403.5 and 393.15 points respectively to finish second and third.
