Agrobank Contributes RM58,000 To Aid B40 Students In Five Kedah Schools

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 (Bernama) -- In a move to support education for the underprivileged, Agrobank has contributed RM58,000 to five selected schools in Kedah to fund the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Intensive Tuition Programme and provide motivational guidance for students from B40 families.

Agrobank president and group chief executive officer Datuk Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin said in a statement that the contribution to schools around Alor Setar was part of the bank's commitment to empowering the younger generation, particularly the children of padi farmers, other farmers, and the B40 community, who form the backbone of the country’s future economy.

“Agrobank not only provides financing facilities to padi farmers and other farmers but also prioritises their children’s education, ensuring quality learning opportunities so that no child is left behind, regardless of their background.

“It is our pleasure to assist 200 students under this programme,” he said.

The five selected schools are Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan (SMJK) Keat Hwa, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Simpang Kuala, SMK Tajar, SMK St. Michael, and SMK Tunku Abdul Rahman.

Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah said the SPM Intensive Tuition Programme, specifically designed to help students prepare for the upcoming SPM examination, will be held every Saturday and Sunday for 10 weeks at the selected schools.

Through initiatives like this, he said, Agrobank aspires to nurture outstanding students who can contribute to national development and secure the future well-being of their communities
