PUTRAJAYA, June 24 (Bernama) -- The country's single digital gateway for public services or MyGOV Malaysia will be launched next month, said Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.
Gobind said the mobile application is part of the country's Government Technology (GovTech) initiative which aims to make it easier for people to access various government agencies easily.
“This is part of the government’s plan to transform Malaysia into a digital nation.
“It is time for us to provide a single platform that allows citizens to deal with various government agencies in a seamless and integrated manner,” he said in a statement today.
Detailing about MyGOV Malaysia, he said the mobile application focuses on seven main services, namely travel (passport matters); registration (birth and citizenship); driving (road tax and driving licence) and health (medical appointments and health records).
He said the application also involves summons services (review and payment); housing (land tax and assessment tax) and the Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR).
“More additional features will be introduced in the near future to enhance the functionality of this application. MyGOV Malaysia will be integrated with MyDigital ID to streamline access to government services through a secure and integrated platform,” he said.
He said users would be able to verify their identity and access various services directly through MyGOV Malaysia using their respective MyDigital ID identification information.
“As of yesterday, 2.6 million MyDigital ID registrations had been recorded. This single sign-on integration will involve 34 major government service systems and more services will be added over time,” he said.
Gobind said the development of MyGOV Malaysia also saw strategic collaboration between the government and the private sector, particularly telecommunications companies and banking institutions.
According to him, the mobile application also benefits the government by optimising the operating costs of Urban Transformation Centres (UTCs) nationwide as well as increasing productivity through the use of data that enables more accurate and informed decisions to be made.
