Over 40 Artworks By Art And Visual Education Teachers On Exhibition In Ipoh

IPOH, Sept 5 (Bernama) -- A total of 42 paintings and sculptures created by art and visual education teachers are on exhibition at the BANGUN!!! Pameran Guru Pendidikan Seni dan Visual Negeri Perak 2026.

The exhibition, located at The Silver Lab on Jalan Datoh here, has been ongoing for about two weeks since Sept 1.

The works were produced by 31 primary and secondary school teachers from across the state, each with different backgrounds, approaches and artistic inclinations.

The inauguration of the exhibition was officiated by Yayasan Perak board member and Ayer Kuning assemblyman Dr. Mohamad Yusri Bakir, today.

Exhibition director Amrie Zakaria said the inaugural exhibition aims to promote a culture of creativity among teachers and to build a stronger network between educators, creators, art institutions and the community.

He said that each piece produced in the exhibition has its own journey and story.

"Previously, the works produced by art teachers were only exhibited on a smaller scale, so this time we are holding an exhibition that can be seen by the public, especially the younger generation," he said when met by Bernama here today.

Meanwhile, Mohamad Yusri said that the exhibition is an effort to inspire art and visuals among art enthusiasts and also among students involved in art and visuals.

"Exhibitions like this can indirectly attract the public, especially the youth, to understand what art is and subsequently popularise it.

"Yayasan Perak always sees art and creativity as among the important elements in shaping a knowledgeable, cultured and competitive society," he said.

Therefore, he said that efforts to strengthen the arts ecosystem through the involvement of educators should be given attention and support so that artistic talent and potential continue to develop.
