FAMA Sales Hit RM3.13 Mln At MAHA 2026

SERDANG, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) recorded RM3.13 million in sales as of today during the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), here.

FAMA chairman Abang Ahmad Kerdee Abang Masagus said the Kingdom of Agrofood contributed RM1,425,422.86 to the total sales, followed by Agribusiness at RM930,220.68, Food Empire (RM623,884) and Food Truck (RM152,476.70).

He said the achievement demonstrated that FAMA’s marketing platform was not just an avenue for promotion and networking among industry players and entrepreneurs, but also contributed positively to the economy.

“Although our target is RM4 million, the sales achieved so far have surpassed the figure recorded in 2024.

“This was not achieved through FAMA’s efforts alone. We must also thank the 2,000 entrepreneurs who participated in MAHA this time, including 349 entrepreneurs under FAMA,” he said at the closing ceremony of the International Conference on Agribusiness Marketing (i-CAM 2026) here today.

Meanwhile, Abang Ahmad Kerdee said FAMA continued to strengthen knowledge sharing and strategic networking in the agri-food sector through a podcast session themed “Transformasi Perniagaan Tani dalam Menangani Keterjaminan Makanan: Perspektif dan Pendekatan Global”, held in conjunction with MAHA 2026.

He said the theme centred on transforming the agribusiness sector to address food security challenges through innovation, technology, value chain development and strategic cooperation between the government and industry.

“I believe we should not stop here. The exchange of views over the past two days should go beyond discussions and serve as a catalyst for collective action,” he said.

Abang Ahmad Kerdee said the session complemented the academic presentations at i-CAM 2026 by providing a more relaxed, interactive and accessible platform for knowledge sharing and discussion.

He said the theme was highly relevant to the current agri-food sector, which is facing various challenges, including climate change, market uncertainty, food safety issues and changing consumer demand.

The podcast session featured Deputy Secretary-General (Development) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) Datuk Luqman Ahmad, as well as two industry players, Azwan Arif of Ayam Bismi Sdn Bhd and Low Wei Han of Green World Genetics Sdn Bhd.

MAHA is a biennial event that brings together industry players, government agencies, entrepreneurs, as well as research and higher education institutions, serving as a key platform to showcase innovation, technology and business opportunities in the agri-food sector.
