FA Cup: Kelantan TRW Knock Out KL City, Kuching City Thrash DPMM

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 (Bernama) -- Kelantan The Real Warriors FC (Kelantan TRW) advanced to the 2025/2026 FA Cup quarterfinals after beating Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC 3-2 on aggregate even though they lost 0-1 in the second leg match at Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium, Cheras here tonight.

Both teams failed to score in the first half of the match, and the solitary goal of the match came in the 71st minute through Victor Ruiz, but it was not enough for KL City FC. Kelantan TRW will meet either Sabah FC or Bunga Raya FC in the quarterfinals.

In SARAWAK, Kuching City FC thrashed DPMM FC 7-1 in their second leg match at State Stadium tonight, ensuring their place in the quarterfinals with an aggregate of 9-4.

Kuching City FC’s import striker Wanja Ronald Ngah scored a hattrick during tonight’s rout of DPMM FC, as he took only two minutes to score his first, while teammate Danial Asri slotted in the second in the 13th minute.

Things went from bad to worse for DPMM in the 20th minute when defender Jordan Rodrigues was shown the red card for fouling James Okwuosa. Kuching City FC then finished off the first half with Ngah’s second personal goal during injury time.

Ngah then completed his hattrick in the 53rd minute, and DPMM finally got on the scoresheet with a goal from Muhammad Ramadhan Sananta five minutes later but by then it was already too late.

The floodgates opened and Kuching City FC scored their fifth goal through Ramadhan Saifullah in the 60th minute, while Danial Asri scored his second personal goal with a deft header in the 77th minute.

Kuching City FC’s Joao Pedro scored the seventh and final goal of the match in injury time, setting up his team to meet Terengganu FC in the quarterfinals.
