KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 (Bernama) -- guardian Malaysia has officially launched the widest range of derma skincare products from China and Korea at its Asian Derma Concourse in Sunway Pyramid, reinforcing its position as the nation’s leading skin expert destination.

The pharmaceutical retail outlet said the range includes market-defining brands such as Winona, Pyunkang Yul, APLB, 377 Sightfuture, Proya, Chando and HBN, most of which are available exclusively at guardian.

“Shoppers have shown increasing interest in made-in-Asia skincare due to climate-specific skin concerns. This has become a ‘hot topic’, especially amid the ongoing heatwave,” it said in a statement today.

It said each brand meets guardian’s dermatological qualification standards and offers targeted formulations for sensitive skin, acne control, brightening, barrier repair, anti-ageing and melanin control.

“These products are formulated or developed in consultation with dermatologists and supported by rigorous clinical trials and ingredient efficacy testing in regional climates,” it added.

guardian Malaysia managing director Priscilla Wu said the curated brands focus on key concerns such as eczema, acne and hyperpigmentation.

“Malaysians can now access formulations that reflect a balance of herbal and scientific approaches, developed specifically for Asian skin concerns,” she said.

She added that the unique structure, physiology and pigmentation of Asian skin, combined with the region’s extreme climate, make such products particularly suitable for local consumers.

“With these ‘made-for-me’ skincare brands, the unmet need among shoppers seeking top Asian derma skincare solutions is now addressed. We are the first to bring together the widest range of Asian derma skincare products under one roof, featuring leading Chinese and Korean brands alongside established Japanese labels,” she said.

Meanwhile, in a move to enhance professional expertise, guardian Malaysia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS).

Priscilla said the collaboration will focus on dermatology-based professional training programmes and further strengthen guardian’s role as a trusted wellness advisor, supported by more than 100 derma expert pharmacists and 600 in-store derma advisors.

She added that customers are encouraged to use the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered skin health assessment tool alongside consultations with guardian’s derma-certified personnel for personalised skin evaluations.
