KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- The National Journalists’ Day (HAWANA) 2025 Sports Carnival is set to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship, unity and togetherness among media personnel across the country.
The programme, organised by the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) in conjunction with HAWANA 2025, is slated to be held at IWK Eco Park @ Pantai Dalam and Wangsa Bowl @ One Utama on Dec 14, Dec 20-21.
The HAWANA Secretariat, in a statement today, said that the sports carnival will serve as a platform to further strengthen ties between media personnel through recreational activities, whilst promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The programme will roll off with the bowling competition at Wangsa Bowl, One Utama, at 9 am on Dec 14. On Dec 20, the football and netball events will be held at IWK Eco Park, Pantai Dalam, at 7 am.
This will be followed by the traditional games at IWK Eco Park, Pantai Dalam, at 7 am on Dec 21.
According to the HAWANA Secretariat, the sports carnival is open to all media organisation personnel, and registration for participation can be made at https://drive.google.com.
HAWANA was introduced in 2018 as a tribute to journalists’ contributions to national development, with May 29 chosen to commemorate the publication of the first edition of Utusan Melayu in 1939.
HAWANA, first celebrated on April 11, 2018, is an initiative of the Communications Ministry, with Bernama serving as the implementing agency.
