KUANTAN, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- An imam of the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque in Janda Baik, who went missing on Saturday, was found safe at a resort in Sabak Bernam, Selangor today.
Bentong police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said his station had received news on the unknown whereabouts of the imam, Ahmad Zalmi Abdul Ghafar, 57, at 1.14 am today.
He said the victim's family had managed to track down the victim's location at around noon today at the resort, but Ahmad Zalmi had checked out.
"At 9.40 pm today, the victim's son contacted the Bukit Tinggi police station and informed the police that his father had returned home in Janda Baik, Bentong safely without any injuries," he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, his son Muhammad Syafique Aimie Ahmad Zalmi, 37, when contacted by Bernama said that his father's purpose of going to Sabak Bernam was to look for work.
"My father did not tell his family that he went job-hunting and he had gone to the resort with hardly any money because he claimed that there was a job vacancy in Sabak Bernam," he said.
Syafiq said his family could not contact his father because his mobile phone was broken.
