KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- The success of the MADANI Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in bringing home 23 Malaysian citizens detained by the Zionist regime after participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission has not only eased public concern but also demonstrated the effectiveness of the nation's diplomacy at the international level.
Members of the public who followed the development of the 23 national volunteers also expressed pride in their courage and the humanitarian values shown in providing aid to the Palestinian people who have long been oppressed by the Zionist regime.
For Amilah Fadhlina Azman, 26, the government's continuous effort proves its concern for the safety of its citizens abroad, thus showing the nation's high commitment to Palestine.
"This success proves Malaysia's commitment to always prioritise the safety of its people and stand firm in advocating for humanitarian values internationally," she said when met by Bernama.
Meanwhile, Siti Ayuni Johar, 24, also expressed her appreciation to the government for the international diplomacy effort, which simultaneously proved Malaysia's capability to play an important role in global issues.
"I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Malaysian Government for the efforts to bring home all 23 Malaysian GSF activists," she said.
Mohd Syukri Mohd Salleh, 36, described the move to bring the activists home as the right action to prevent prolonged tension and to ensure that the safety of Malaysians remains a priority.
"I don't deny that the Sumud mission is a good mission, but when it involves safety, the government's action to bring them back is the best step," he said.
In addition, Siti Nur Shakina Daud, 23, said the GSF mission held great value because it successfully raised a humanitarian voice for Palestine despite the high risks involved.
She said the brave action of the volunteers in participating in the mission should be appreciated because it reflects the courage of Malaysians in upholding justice and expressing solidarity with the fate of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Meanwhile, Nurul Raihan Nabila Hashim, 24, considered the mission a good step in expressing support for the people of Palestine.
"I want to say thank you very much to our 23 volunteers for their extraordinary courage, and at the same time, thank you to the Malaysian Government for taking the right and swift steps to ensure all of them returned home safely," she said.
Last Thursday, the 23 Malaysian activists participating in the GSF mission were detained by the Zionist regime's army after their ship was intercepted in the R3 Red Zone waters of the Mediterranean Sea and then taken to the Port of Ashdod, Israel.
All Malaysian activists were released and departed from Ramon Airport, Israel, at 6:45 pm Malaysian time yesterday before arriving in Istanbul at 8:40 pm Malaysian time last night.
The GSF involved over 500 activists from 45 countries sailing towards Gaza as a symbol of solidarity and an effort to break the Israeli blockade, while delivering humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
