BUDI95: Johor KPDN Tightens Checks At Border Petrol Stations

JOHOR BAHRU, Sept 30 (BERNAMA) – The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) in Johor has tightened monitoring at petrol stations, particularly those near the Johor-Singapore border, to prevent foreign vehicles from refuelling with RON95 petrol, following the implementation of BUDI MADANI RON95.

Johor KPDN director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo said that despite facing constraints due to the limited number of enforcement personnel, random inspections will be carried out by KPDN officers on a regular basis as RON95 is only allocated for Malaysians.

“Petrol station operators must be responsible and play their role in ensuring that only local vehicles are allowed to refuel with RON95. If foreign vehicles arrive, they must be directed to refuel with RON97.

“Citizens of neighbouring countries such as Singapore are already aware that they are not eligible to refuel with RON95.

“Therefore, we hope operators will not take this matter lightly, she told reporters after an inspection on the implementation of targeted petrol subsidies through the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) and BUDI95.

Meanwhile, Johor KPDN will be holding Client Day sessions from tomorrow until Oct 7 to provide information and facilitate SKPS subsidy registration for targeted groups such as logistics companies, taxi operators, rental car services and school van operators.
