KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- Defending champions, Selangor Red Giants (SRG.OG) failed to defend their Mobile Legend Bang-Bang (MLBB) Mid-Season Cup (MSC) when they lost 1-4 to Team Liquid PH (TLPH) of the Philippines in the grand final today inRiyadh, Saudi Arabia.
SRG.OG, represented by Muhd Qayyum Ariffin Mohd Suhairi (Yums), Muhd Haqqullah Ahmad Shahrul Zaman (Sekys), Haziq Danish Mohd Rizwan (Stormie) and two import players, Mark Genzon Sojero Rusiana (Kramm) and John Vincent Banal (Innocent), took 16 minutes to win their first match in the best-of-seven final.
TLPH then rallied and tightened their game by switching tactics, a move that SRG.OG were unable to counter, allowing the Philippine team to rake up four consecutive wins to secure their first ever title in the championship.
TLPH won USD 1 million as champions, while SRG.OG goes home with USD 500,000 as runners-up, while another Philippine team, ONIC PH placed third after beating Indonesian team ONIC ID 3-2 in the third place decider earlier in the afternoon.
Another Malaysian team in the tournament, Homebois, meanwhile ended 9th to 12th , winning USD 66,000.
