MELAKA, Feb 18 -- Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali today denied a fraudulent message using his name and profile picture on social media today.

He said the act by irresponsible individuals had tarnished his reputation, besides, causing losses to dupe victims.

“I regret this action by irresponsible parties who impersonate me by using my name and profile picture to solicit funds and deceive people on social media.

“Therefore, I urge the parties to immediately stop this act and I would not hesitate to take legal actions including lodging a police report,” he said in a statement here today

Sulaiman also advised the public to be more vigilant and not to easily fall for social media sites using his name and profile picture.

Today, a message by unknown individuals had misused Sulaiman’s WhatsApp profile picture by asking an individual to transfer RM4,700 to an account of another individual using the mobile number 010-3865922.
