KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 (Bernama) -- Bernama sports journalist Muhammad Zulkarnain Mohd Azman won the Best Sports Coverage Award in the Print Media category at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Media Awards 2026 here tonight.
He won the award with his article titled "MBPJ Terus Taja Wai Ching, Promosi Petaling Jaya Di Pentas Dunia", and received a trophy, a certificate of appreciation and RM1,000 in cash from Petaling Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohamad Zahri Samingon.
“I am truly grateful and would like to thank everyone who has continuously supported me, especially my editors, teammates and family, who have always stood behind me throughout this journey.
“This award will also serve as a motivation for me to continue producing more meaningful, high-quality work that will have a positive impact on society in the future,” he told reporters after his win.
The MBPJ Media Awards 2026 featured 14 categories covering special reports, feature writing, visual journalism, sports coverage, entertainment media, as well as several special recognition awards.
The awards were organised to recognise the contributions of media practitioners in disseminating information on MBPJ's services, initiatives and Petaling Jaya's urban development agenda to the public.
