PUTRAJAYA, June 29 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Radio producer Siti Hashmarr Mohd Hashim has won the Bureaucratic Red Tape Reform (RKB) Media Coverage Award in the radio category at a ceremony held here tonight.

Winning for her special report, “Revolusi Rumah Mampu Milik Johor”, she received a certificate and RM10,000 in prize money from Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.

Siti Hashmarr explained that she had initially entered only because the late Bernama Radio chief, Azlan Idris, had encouraged staff to submit their work for the award.

"Alhamdulillah, I truly never expected to receive this award.

"I would also like to express my gratitude to all the heads of department at Bernama Radio, especially my teammate, Shuhadah Armawan. Without her, I would not be here tonight," she said.

She dedicated the win to her colleagues, noting that although only one person could be nominated, the victory was the result of a collective effort.

Other Bernama winners included news officer Mohd Ashraf Syafiq Mazlan, who took third place in the article category for his piece “Reformasi Kerenah Birokrasi KPKM Pacu Sektor Agromakanan, Penjimatan Besar Negara” and Mohd Noor Iqram Rosli, who won a consolation prize for his report in the television category, “Penilaian Sistematik RKB Bantu KRT Bukit Durian Perkasa Ternakan Ayam Belanda.”

Organised by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), the ceremony aims to honour the successful implementation of red tape reform projects, which have helped reduce regulatory burdens while boosting the efficiency and productivity of the public service.

The government has recognised 14 high-impact bureaucracy reform projects implemented by ministries, agencies, and state authorities, aimed at improving public service delivery, as well as enhancing the country's productivity and economic competitiveness.

At the ceremony, certificates were awarded to 86 high-potential red tape reform projects. Additionally, 12 organisations were acknowledged for achieving the highest number of completed initiatives, alongside three recipients of the special RKB awards.

Also present was the Director-General of the Public Service, Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz.

Those present included ministry secretaries-general, state secretaries, public service management teams, RKB coordinators, and project representatives.
