ISTANBUL, Feb 15 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting Saturday with US President Donald Trump’s envoys in Germany to discuss the upcoming trilateral peace talks in Geneva following diplomatic efforts in the United Arab Emirates, Anadolu Ajansi reported.
“I had a conversation with envoys of President Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, ahead of the trilateral meetings in Geneva. We count on the meetings being truly productive,” Zelenskyy said in a statement during his visit to the Munich Security Conference.
The Ukrainian leader noted that the discussions included developments from previous rounds of negotiations held in Abu Dhabi earlier this month.
Zelenskyy also held talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in the German city, expressing gratitude for Washington’s consistent support.
“We greatly appreciate that America consistently maintains a constructive approach and is ready to assist in protecting lives,” Zelenskyy added, while confirming that Ukraine’s negotiating team would formally present its position during the next round of discussions.
