KULAI, June 15 (Bernama) -- The Rahmah MADANI Sale programme organised in Bandar Indahpura here in conjunction with the coming Aidiladha celebration, offering various necessities at a discount price of up to 30 per cent,  brings relief to the local folks and those in the surrounding areas.

The discount price offered for most essential items enables them to save their spending in preparing for the Aidiladha celebration.

One of the shoppers met,  Abdul Jalil Matop, 58, said he was satisfied with the programme organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) as the goods sold, such as rice, chicken, meat and eggs are reasonably priced.

"Alhamdulillah, in terms of the price, this programme is good because all items are sold at cheaper prices than in supermarkets or grocery stores.

"I can save up to 30 per cent in expenses for the Aidiladha preparation.  I hope programmes like this are held more often, hence reducing the burden on the people," he said.

Another visitor, Suhaida Mohd Said, 55, said the programme offers a variety of necessities, especially raw materials,  such as quality fish, chicken and shrimp at reasonable prices.

However, the housewife hoped that the programme could be improved further by holding it at a larger venue for the public convenience.

“There should also be more payment counters to reduce the waiting time to make payments," said the housewife.

Meanwhile, Johor KPDN Director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo said the Rahmah MADANI Sales Programme in conjunction with Aidiladha, being held at eight locations, aimed to reduce the cost of living for the B40 and the hardcore poor.

She said that between Jan 15 and May 31 this year, the Johor KPDN office had organised 233 mobile Rahmah Sales programmes, with 19 of them held in an open area.

The subsidy provided for the 233 programmes was worth more than RM2 million, she said.

She also gave the assurance of a sufficient supply of essential items for the Aidiladha celebration.
