KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5 (Bernama) -- The formation of the Executive Committee (JKE), National Statistics and Data Council (MSDN), will function as a platform to formulate action plans to empower and strengthen the national statistical system.
The Statistics Department in a ststement said JKE will assume the role of identifying and determine the priorities to meet the requirements of the National Statistics System Enhancement (PSSN) and governance of JKE MSDN.
It will also coordinate the needs for technical, collection as well as disseminating the statistics so that the existing data sharing, namely administrative data from the ministries/public agencies and private sector are used efficiently and effectively towards the production of high impact official statistical output.
The JKE supports the implementation of MSDN at the federal level as well as State/Regional Statistics and Data Council, which will be established in every state and Federal Territories in order to intensify the governance of state and district statistical system including at the lowest level such as Parliamentary constituencies and state assemblies.
The first JKE MSDN meeting today was chaired by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali virtually whereby two papers were tabled, namely PSSN and JKE MSDN Governance.
The meeting was a follow-up to MSDN's inaugural meeting on Jan 27, 2022 which was chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
