KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 -- MK Group has provided financial assistance of RM200,000 to alleviate the burden of residents of Klang Utama in Klang, Selangor, who were affected by the massive floods, late last year.
MK Group founder and chief executive officer Dr Raymond Ang said apart from the financial contribution, the residents also received assistance in the form of basic food packs and angpau in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.
He said MK Group volunteers also helped repair and painted the resident's houses as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
“The company is very concerned and we care about the residents of Klang who were affected by the recent floods and we are committed to working together and helping each other through these difficult times,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, in the same statement, Klang Utama resident advisor Lee Fu Haw said that the road-paving process and repair of business premises and houses were being carried out throughout the area.
However, Lee said additional assistance was still required from the state or federal government for the repair of damaged facilities.
