Antara Digital Media, Bernama Radio to collaborate via broadcasts

JAKARTA, 6 Jan -- Antara Digital Media in Indonesia will collaborate with Bernama Radio in Malaysia to increase the dissemination of news and information via the radio, which can further strengthen the relations between the two countries in the political, economic, and cultural fields.

Antara Digital Media is a strategic provider of information and news services owned by Indonesian news agency Antara, while Bernama Radio is owned by the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama).

Antara chief executive officer Darmadi Dike said the collaboration is part of a memorandum of understanding signed in November last year by Antara and Bernama during Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob's visit to Jakarta.

“As the official news agency, both parties must of course function as communicators of government and national information.

“This can be implemented, (and) one of them (is) through radio broadcasts," he said while visiting the Pasuruan Media Centre in East Java.

Antara Digital Media also welcomed the support given by the District Public Radio Television Association (Persada.id), which boasts a membership of 118 organisations throughout Indonesia, for its collaboration with Bernama Radio.

Bernama and Antara Digital Media will also collaborate in disseminating information through its company's existing out-of-home digital platform (DOOH) as well as those to be installed in Malaysia, said Darmadi.

The use of DOOH is effective in delivering news quickly to the audience. It provides content in the form of multimedia that can attract the attention of readers in public spaces such as airports, train stations, hospitals and government offices.
