KUFC reshuffles coaches, players for next season

KOTA BHARU, Dec 8 -- Kelantan United Football Club (KUFC) will reshuffle the club’s coaching staff and utlise junior players for next season’s Malaysia League (M-League).

KUFC executive director Anas Karimi Ahmad Thani said the decision was made following the team’s seventh place finish in the 2021 Premier League season and early elimination in the Malaysia Cup.

"KUFC has decided on the new coach for next season and we leave it up to the coach to build the best squad capable of taking on all rivals.

"We will reshuffle the coaching staff with the appointment of a new head coach. He will be given the responsibility to shape the team as he sees fit and the management will not interfere,” he said in a media statement here today.

KUFC is the second team from Kelantan to compete in the M-League after Kelantan FC, that are better known as Kelantan The Red Warriors.

Anas Karimi said the newly appointed head coach has been briefed about the club’s main mission and vision to prioritise junior players who are capable of also representing the country.

"Therefore, our targets include seeing KUFC players being selected to represent Malaysia in other more prestigious championships,” he added.

On the club’s preparations for the M-League, he said KUFC was currently trying to resolve major issues and will make further media announcements regarding the appointment of coaches and players.

"KUFC has also set the target of finishing in the top five teams in the Premier Leage and to qualify for the Malaysia Cup. As such, it is 100 per cent up to the coach to strengthen the team to achieve these targets successfully,” he added.
