TUMPAT, Nov 3 -- The 9th Battalion General Operations Force (PGA9) seized 68 boer goats worth RM102,000 believed to have been smuggled from a neighbouring country in Kampung Jubakar Darat here, last night.
Commanding officer Supt Nor Azizan Yusof said the goats were seized by a team who came across a lorry being driven in a suspicious manner at 12.30pm.
“PGA9 members tailed the truck before ordering the driver to stop for an inspection.
“The team found the goats on inspecting the back of the lorry. When questioned the lorry driver failed to produce any documents to transport the animals," he said in a statement, today.
Nor Azizan said the seizure estimated to be worth RM162,000 including the truck, would be handed over to the Kelantan Veterinary Services Department for further action.
