KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 -- Perak FC, the 2018 Malaysia Cup winners, scored a goal in each half to down Sri Pahang FC 2-0 at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan tonight.
The win allowed The Bos Gaurus side to climb up to third spot in the standings with four points, having drawn 0-0 with PJ City FC in their opening match last week.
Midfielder J. Partiban put Perak FC ahead in the 43rd minute when his right-footed shot beat Sri Pahang FC goalkeeper Mohamad Helmi Eliza Elias.
Mohamad Helmi was at fault again for Perak FC’s second goal when he rushed out of the penalty box and was beaten to the ball by Muhammad Farhan Roslan, who cooly slotted home.
Meanwhile, Dominique Da Sylva was the hero for Kuala Lumpur City FC when he scored the only goal in their win over UiTM FC.
At the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium, Petaling Jaya City FC (PJ City FC) and Melaka United FC played out a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Melaka United FC took a 55th minute lead through a S.Kumaahran header before Darren Lok let fly a cracker to equalise for PJ City FC in the 70th minute.
Darren then made it 2-1 in the 86th minute from the penalty spot and his team looked set to clinch all three points. However, Mohamad Faris Shah Mohd Rosli had other ideas and salvaged a point for Melaka United FC with a late equaliser.
In the Premier League, Sarawak United FC scored a convincing 3-0 win over Perak FC II at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh.
Goals from Norshahrul Idlan Talaha (35th minute) and Uche Agba (75th, penalty and 84th) were enough to ensure Sarawak United FC topped the standings.
Over at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, a third-minute goal by Amirul Shafik Che Soh and a 70th-minute strike by Shuhei Fukai gave Kelantan United FC a 2-0 win over PDRM FC.
In another Premier League match at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu, home team Terengganu FC II were held to a 1-1 draw by Kuching City FC.
