The championship, organised by the Polytechnic and Community College Education Department (JPPKK) in collaboration with Kota Bharu Polytechnic as host and co-organiser, was officially opened today by JPPKK Deputy Director-General (Planning) Ulaimi Yahya.
JPPKK said that the competition, which has nine categories, brings together participants from polytechnics and community colleges (POLYCC), schools, higher education institutions, and related agencies.

The championship also allows participants the opportunity to develop skills in technical fields such as robotics, automation, programming, artificial intelligence, and mechatronics, in line with current global technological advancements, it added.
More notably, POLYCC students who emerge as winners in the championship will earn a valuable opportunity to continue competing at the international level at the FIRA RoboWorld Cup and Summit 2026, scheduled from July 17 to 21 in Markham, near Toronto, Canada.
