RIYADH, Jan 9 -- Saudi Arabia announced on Friday the lifting of travel restrictions from March 31, Xinhua news agency reported according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Interior Ministry also highlighted the decision includes fully lifting of the ban on all international flights and the reopening of all lands and sea ports.
Following that, Saudi Arabia citizens are allowed to travel abroad and return to the Kingdom.
The delay of the lifting of restrictions that was supposed to take place this month was due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the spread of the new strain of the virus in some countries.
The ministry also said that the decision was kept to the end of March, in order to get the required quantities of COVID-19 vaccines to cover the whole kingdom.
The opening-up steps were the result of the reduction of daily infections to below 200 cases.
