KPJ Bandar Dato Onn appreciates media with free flu shot

JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 28  -- KPJ Bandar Dato Onn Specialist Hospital (KPJBDOSH), here, gave complimentary influenza vaccination and health check-ups to 14 state media practitioners today.

Its chief executive officer, Noor Haslina Harun said the programme was in appreciation of the sacrifice and contribution of media practitioners in Johor who served as frontliners in battling COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to strengthen the existing relationship between the two parties.

“The service and sacrifice of media practitioners in battling COVID-19 as frontliners are no less important than the personnel in healthcare, police, military and other government agencies as their commitment allowed the community to receive the latest development on the dangers of the pandemic.

“Hence, we feel that this programme is appropriate. We also appreciate the continuous support from the media towards our programmes and activities,” she told the media at the programme held in the hospital.

Earlier, media personnel from the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), Berita Harian, Utusan Malaysia, Harian Metro, Malaysia Nanban, The Iskandarian and BEST FM received the vaccine shot.

Apart from that, they were also given health check-ups including body mass index (BMI), glucose and blood pressure tests.

The media practitioners were also taken on a tour of the wards and introduced to the various facilities at the hospital.

KPJBDOSH started operating on February 19 last year and is the sixth KPJ hospital branch in Johor.
