Muhammad Sanusi appointed new KFA President

ALOR SETAR,  July 12   -- Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor was officially appointed today as the Kedah Football Association’s (KFA) new president, replacing former Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir. 

Meanwhile, Muhammad Radhi Mat Din, former stalwart of the Hijau Kuning squad, won uncontested as its vice president.

Muhammad Sanusi said as KFA president he would be carrying heavy responsibilities since football garners serious attention from the people in the state.

“It is a heavy responsibility to lead KFA. As we all know, the sport is facing difficulties following the Movement Control Order (MCO) but we hope there will be a boost after this.

“I also hope with Muhammad Radhi’s election as vice president, as someone who was involved as a player and a coach, it can help boost the Lang Merah squad’s performance,” he told reporters in Wisma Darul Aman, today.

Earlier, KFA held an extraordinary general meeting attended by its executive as well as affiliate members to elect the association’s new president and vice president.

Meanwhile, with regards to the position of KFA honorary secretary, Muhammad Sanusi said he had several names in mind and it would be announced soon.

“I hope all parties can work together to place KFA back on the football pinnacle and we will try to solve problems plaguing it particularly relating to financial issues,” he said.

Asked on the issue of salary areas for the Hijau Kuning players, Muhammad Sanusi said he and the KFA committee had a plan which would resolve the issue soon.
