KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 -- Interim Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has agreed to return as chairman of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), according to party secretary-general Datuk Marzuki Yahya.
Marzuki told Bernama this in a short WhatsApp message today.
"Yes," he said, when asked whether it is true that Dr Mahathir has returned as Bersatu chairman.
However, there has been no confirmation from Dr Mahathir on the matter.
On Monday, Dr Mahathir resigned as the prime minister and also Bersatu chairman.
Following that, Bersatu leaders rejected his resignation as chairman and urged him to return to lead the party and the country.
