IPOH, Nov 29 -- The Perak State Agriculture Development Corporation (SADC) Agrofest 2019 will not only give a chance for local residents to buy local farm products cheaply but also to view the latest in agriculture equipment.
The first-ever such programme by the SADC was launched by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu here today.
The four-day event which began yesterday until Dec 1 is being held at the Perak SADC headquarters in Taman Chateau here from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m daily.
Besides the sale of fresh farm produce, various events are also being held including an exhibition of agricultural equipment, sale of plants, a petting zoo, a lucky draw, a cooking competition and a karaoke contest.
Meanwhile, SADC chief executive officer Yahanis Yahya said in his speech that the Perak SADC Agrofest 2019 will give the public a chance to buy fresh farm goods at cheaper prices.
In addition, he said, there is a special three-hour slot each day where the goods will be sold at extra cheap prices.
Yahanis added that 1,076 people visited the fest on the first day yesterday and a total of 5,000 people are expected over the four-day programme which was a good platform for the companies under SADC to introduce their products to the public.
