KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- With just two months to go, Saudi Arabia is set to welcome athletes, officials and fans from across the Islamic world for the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 from Nov 7 to 21.
Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, Prince Fahad Jalawi, said they were honoured to host 57 contingents that will compete in 23 sporting events at world-class venues across Riyadh.
“This Games showcases our commitment to unity in the Islamic world and provides the best platform for athletes to compete, connect and inspire future generations,” he said in a statement today.
Among the events featured are handball, swimming, athletics, taekwondo and volleyball, while camel racing and e-sports are set to make their debut in the sixth edition of the Games.
Since its inception in 2005, Turkiye has dominated the medal tally with 237 gold medals, followed by Iran with 118 and Azerbaijan with 114, while Malaysia has made its mark among the top 10 with 33 gold medals.
