KUCHING, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- Kuching City FC will look to sustain their momentum against Immigration FC in the next Super League fixture after edging Selangor FC 1-0 at the State Stadium here today, said its head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak

He also applauded his players’ superb performance and attitude, particularly in the second half when his tactical changes shifted the momentum.

“We changed a little bit of our plans and after bringing in Jordan Mintah, Joao Pedro and Filemon Standly, it worked well. I am very pleased with the team’s performance tonight,” he said during a press conference after the match, today.

He added that the players executed the game plan with determination and credited the fans for lifting the team throughout the game.

The decisive goal came in the 68th minute when Ramdhan Saifullah’s curling free kick beat Selangor goalkeeper Kalamullah Al-Hafiz, sealing three valuable points for the team.

The win sees Kuching City who have played four matches, collect seven points to overtake Selangor who have six points after playing five matches, in the Super League table.

Looking ahead, Aidil stressed the importance of consistency as his squad prepares to face Immigration FC this Sept 28.

“The most important thing is for us to keep the momentum, improve our consistency and sustain this level throughout the season. Hopefully, we can carry this energy into the next game.

"(As for Wanja Ronald Ngah's condition) it’s just a cramp, not an injury. He gave everything he could and I am still pleased with his performance even though he didn’t score... I expect him to be fit for the Immigration game,” he said.

Meanwhile, Selangor FC head coach Katsuhito Kinoshi admitted the defeat was tough, given the team’s tight schedule and travel fatigue.

“We just played two days ago (in Asian Football Confederation Champions League 2) and only arrived (Kuching) yesterday, so it was a really difficult situation,” said Japanese tactician who however, took responsibility for the result and remained optimistic about bouncing back.

“We conceded from a free kick, and after that it was difficult to reverse the game, but until the end our players kept trying. We will keep working to make our supporters and management proud,” he added.
