4th PDRM Dialogue to focus On Road Safety, Traffic Management - Home Minister

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- The fourth edition of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Special Dialogue, scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year, is expected to focus on road safety and traffic management, particularly issues related to motorcycle convoys.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the matter requires serious attention and a strategic approach to prevent problems such as law violations and untoward incidents, including accidents.

“We will discuss many aspects, including convoy issues. In fact, there are standard operating procedures in place. We also have the Inspector-General of Police’s standing orders which clearly outline the do’s and don’ts.

“For example, marshals appointed by organisers have their limitations. They are not allowed to control other vehicles or run red lights, among other things,” he told reporters after attending the PDRM Special Dialogue III 2025 here today.

The media reported recently that five fatalities were recorded during the RXZ Members 7.0 gathering held in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Saifuddin Nasution said that besides the fourth PDRM Special Dialogue, two other major events under the Home Ministry are also scheduled — the PDRM Security Symposium (PSS) from Jan 26 to 28 next year and the second edition of the Asia International Security Summit and Expo (ACE) in January 2027.

He said the PSS will focus on technology and innovation in safety and public security, while ACE is a prestigious event that gathers global security technology solution providers.
