FAM Full Of Praise For Tengku Fahad's Unwavering Support For National Futsal Squad

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) extends its gratitude to the President of Pahang Rangers FC, Tengku Arif Temenggong Tengku Fahad Mua’adzam Shah Sultan Ahmad Shah, for his unwavering support of the national futsal team as they competed in Group G of the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup Qualifiers.

The qualifying round, which took place from September 20 to yesterday at the SUKPA Indoor Stadium in Kuantan, Pahang, saw Malaysia successfully qualify for the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup, which will be held in Indonesia next January.

Acting FAM President, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi, said the successful organisation of this prestigious Asian-level tournament could not have been achieved without the cooperation of Tengku Fahad, who is also the President of PRFC and a member of the FAM Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee.

"On behalf of the FAM Executive Committee and the FAM secretariat, I express my deepest gratitude to Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tengku Fahad, as the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup Qualifiers at SUKPA were successfully held," he said in a statement released by FAM today.

Mohd Yusoff said the hosting of the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup Qualifiers in Kuantan proved that Malaysia, particularly the state of Pahang, is capable of being an excellent host for international-level events.

"As Tengku Fahad said, this proves SUKPA's status as one of the premier futsal venues or arena, further highlighting Kuantan as a sports hub," he said.

Malaysia finished as the runners-up in Group G, securing their ticket to the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup.
