NEW DELHI, Sept 26 (Bernama) -- Tourism Pahang has staged roadshows in New Delhi and Chennai to woo Indian travellers to the Malaysian state’s hidden gems, from eco-tourism treasures to scenic islands and highland retreats.

Tourism department officials, joined by 15 representatives from hotels, resorts, and tour companies, presented Pahang’s diverse offerings — from rail tourism and wedding destinations to business travels and conferences — to Indian tour operators and airlines.

The promotion campaign kicked off in New Delhi on Wednesday and concluded in Chennai on Friday.

“We are here to introduce the lesser-travelled gems of Pahang such as Tioman Island, Cherating Beach, Fraser’s Hill, and Taman Negara (National Park). We are confident that these offerings will appeal to Indian families, honeymooners, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) groups, and even luxury wedding planners,” said Leong Yu Man, head of the Pahang State Committee on Unity, Tourism, and Culture.

She said India is one of Malaysia's most important source markets and the response to the roadshow reflected it.
