BALING, Sept 5 (Bernama) -- A dramatic parachute display by VAT 69 Ulu Kinta Commandos captivated visitors at the Kedah MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) here today.
Six elite paratroopers leapt from 5,000 feet and executed a tight aerial formation, drawing loud cheers and pride in the nation’s security forces.
For Baharom Teh, 64, of Kampung Tualang, Sik, the moment was especially moving as one of the paratroopers was his son.
“I never miss the chance to watch him jump. It’s always thrilling to see him and his teammates in the air,” he told Bernama.
Salmah Dollah, 60, also from Sik, said she brought her six-year-old grandson, Muhammad Adam Amsyar Fakrul Razi, who was overjoyed to witness the rare performance.
Troop 9 Charlie Squadron commander Insp Khairil Azhar Kamaruddin said the show reflected the discipline, skill and courage of VAT 69 members, with the team landing precisely on target.
He added that the public can catch the final demonstration at the Baling District Council Sports Complex tomorrow morning, where paratroopers will descend carrying flags.
