PUTRAJAYA, Aug 31 (Bernama) -- His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, today graced the 2025 National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya, here.

Their surprise arrival at 8 am drew cheers and applause from the crowd, many of whom had gathered at the venue since the night before. His Majesty personally drove a blue Proton Satria Neo bearing the registration number WWW1, adding a unique and memorable touch to the event.

The Proton Satria Neo, a compact hatchback produced by Proton between 2006 and 2015, is powered by a CamPro engine with a capacity of 1.3 to 1.6 litres. The higher-performance variants feature Cam Profile Switching (CPS) technology, offering enhanced power and responsiveness.

The arrival of Their Majesties at the Royal Stage was welcomed by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who is the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day main committee chairman, and his wife, Datin Azrina Puteri Mohamed Mahyuddin.

The sound of trumpets echoed across Dataran Putrajaya, signalling the start of the ceremonial segment, before the Hormat Diraja and Negaraku were played by the Main Guard of Honour band.

This was followed by a spectacular flyover featuring five helicopters, each proudly displaying the Jalur Gemilang along with the flags of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), the Army (TDM), the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), soaring across the Putrajaya skyline.

His Majesty then proceeded to inspect the parade and received the Royal Salute from the Main Guard of Honour mounted by four officers and 103 personnel from the First Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment, based at the Sungai Besi Camp.
