PUTRAJAYA, Sept 12 (Bernama) -- The Putrajaya PKR branch today lodged a police report against a TikTok account over a post allegedly containing provocative remarks on the Kampung Sungai Baru issue.
Its Information chief Mohd Hafiz Osman said the police report was lodged against the owner of the TikTok account @rafidahhjibrahim over a post allegedly calling on the public to “turun padang” on Sept 11 (yesterday).
“A police report was lodged today against an individual identified as having uploaded provocative content that could threaten public order and cause division, particularly involving the residents of Kampung Sungai Baru and stakeholders in the issue.
“The statement shared on Rafidah Haji Ibrahim’s TikTok account clearly contains elements of incitement, urging residents and the public to act unlawfully, making baseless allegations against leaders and authorities, and calling for violent action against any enforcement measures,” he told reporters after lodging the report at the Putrajaya district police headquarters here.
He said that the statement was also seen as an attempt to incite hatred and fear among the public.
Therefore, Mohd Hafiz urged the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to carry out an immediate investigation and take necessary measures to prevent the content from being widely circulated.
“We also want to emphasise that Putrajaya PKR is committed to defending the rights of Kampung Sungai Baru residents through legal channels and fair negotiations, and not through provocation or incitement.
“Any differences of opinion should be expressed responsibly, based on facts and in accordance with the law,” he said.
Meanwhile, Putrajaya District Police Chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed, when contacted by Bernama, confirmed receiving the report.
Yesterday, Dang Wangi Police chief ACP Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman sustained a head injury, believed to have been caused by a rock thrown by an unidentified individual during a tense enforcement operation in Kampung Sungai Baru in Kuala Lumpur.
The incident occurred as authorities carried out a court-ordered operation to cut off the electricity supply and demolish several homes in the area.
