SEREMBAN, Aug 30 (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) head coach, Mohd Nidzam Jamil admitted that the match against Kuching City FC last night required great determination from his team to keep their positive momentum in the Super League competition.

He explained that NSFC's comeback in the final minute of the match to tie the score at 2-2 with the opponent was not an easy task, but it was very important to ensure that at least one point could be taken home.

According to him, the presence of thousands of supporters also fueled the team's enthusiasm to continue searching for goals in the match at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi last night.

"As one of the strong teams in the league, Kuching City FC are not easy to handle as their strikers are tall and fast with good personalities.

"NSFC’s attempt to bounce back in the second half, makes me happy. Actually, it is not easy to do that. We were actually lucky to get a point," he told reporters after the match last night.

In the match, NSFC had to accept a 2-2 draw against Kuching City FC through the goals of two imported players, Joseph Esso, in the 78th minute and Nsue Etugu Luis Enrique in injury time before the end of the match.

Earlier, NSFC were trailing with the opponent's early goal in the sixth minute by Ahmad Danial Ahmad Asri and Wanja import Ronald Ngah doubled the lead in the 47th minute.

NSFC has shown commendable performance so far in three league matches by recording a victory over Selangor FC 2-1 and providing tough resistance to Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) before losing 3-5.

Mohd Nidzam said that facing several strong teams in the league also encouraged NSFC to perform better and rise with new strength in the upcoming matches.

"This is what football is, if we play against strong teams like JDT, Selangor, Kuching City or Sabah, we cannot afford to be in the wrong position or we will be severely punished.

"This is the team's challenge to improve their performance, I am relieved because the players acted quickly not to lose points last night," he said.

NSFC is currently sixth in the league with four points, while Kuching City is fifth with the same number of points. Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) continues to lead the league with 12 points.
