KOTA BHARU, Aug 29 (Bernama) -- Kelantan The Real Warriors (TRW) head coach, E. Elavarasan, wants his squad to secure their first victory in the Super League when they face Penang FC at the City Stadium in Penang, tomorrow night.
Elavarasan said the win was crucial to improve the team’s standing and close the points gap with the leading sides this season.
“After three matches, we have only recorded two draws and one defeat. So, tomorrow’s match is very important to get our first win, and at the same time, give supporters confidence to come to the stadium for the next fixtures.
“Of course, it will not be an easy match, especially away from home, as both teams have yet to register their first win of the season,” he told Bernama today.
After three matches, TRW sit in 10th place with two points, while Penang FC are 11th with one point.
The 63-year-old coach said he wanted his players to take the field with high motivation to ensure victory.
“The players need to play with fighting spirit even though it is an away match, while avoiding mistakes that could give the opponents chances to score.
“We know Penang FC have the quality to dominate the game if our players make errors,” he said.
He also acknowledged Penang FC as a team with potential, especially when playing on their home turf.
“Tomorrow’s focus will be on the team’s style of play and tactics. We have studied our weaknesses and are working to improve them,” he said.
