JOHOR BAHRU, March 5 (Bernama) -- UDA Holdings Berhad (UDA), a leading property development and asset management company and an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP), today spread joy to 100 orphans and asnaf children through its Sinar Ramadan UDA 2026 CSR Programme held at Angsana Johor Bahru Mall here.
UDA Group Corporate Communications Division head Radziah Mohamed Fadzil said the children from Rumah Perlindungan Fitrah Qaseh Johor, were treated to a shopping spree for clothes and Aidilfitri essentials worth RM350 each, bringing smiles and excitement ahead of the Syawal celebration.
She said the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme was carried out through UDA’s subsidiary, UDA Angsana Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with UDA Land (South) Sdn Bhd, and has been an annual initiative since 2021.
“Almost RM30,000 of zakat wakalah was channelled for the purchase of new clothes and Aidilfitri essentials for 85 residents of Rumah Perlindungan Fitrah Qaseh, aged between 12 months and 28 years.
“We hope this donation will bring happiness to the children, enabling them to experience the joy of Syawal, while also inspiring UDA to continue extending support to those in need,” she said.
The Sinar Ramadan UDA 2026 CSR programme was also attended by Angsana Johor Bahru Mall chief operating officer Imran Salleh, acting chief operating Officer of UDA Land (South) Sdn Bhd Norazim Shukor, as well as UDA management and staff, all coming together to show their support for the children.
According to Radziah, besides the shopping trip, the children were also treated to a delighted breaking-of-fast event and received Raya cookies as a sweet token of remembrance.
She added that the programme was implemented in line with UDA’s “Memenuhi Impian” aspiration this year, while also reinforcing the company’s CSR agenda through the UDA Prihatin platform.
“The zakat wakalah contribution is implemented through one of the main pillars of UDA Prihatin, namely Empowering Lives, which focuses on supporting communities in need around UDA's business development areas.
“The other three pillars of the UDA Prihatin programme are Education, Entrepreneurs, and Improvement Projects, which aim to empower the community as a whole,” she said.
Meanwhile, Puteri Nur Damia Adriana Abdullah, 15, who has been receiving aid from UDA for the past six years, expressed her excitement and happiness, saying that UDA’s continued support makes Aidilfitri special for her and her friends.
“I want a baju kurung and a dark blue headscarf this year. I really like the clothes at Angsana, they are so beautiful. Thank you, UDA Holdings,” said the Sekolah Menengah Aminuddin Baki student.
Muhammad Ibrahimusa, 17, said he was grateful to UDA Holdings for giving him the opportunity to purchase Raya essentials for the eighth consecutive year.
“My brother are so happy we get to buy a baju Melayu and a songkok, and see what else we like,” he said.
