KULAI, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- A total of 1,783 Rahmah Madani Sales Programmes (PJRM) were held across Johor from January to December this year, generating total sales of RM65.7 million.
Johor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) director, Lilis Saslinda Pornomo said the initiative directly benefited over 1.96 million households in the state during the period.
She said the PJRM Back-to-School 2026 programme and a special initiative in conjunction with Christmas celebrations, held today, are among the 1,783 PJRM programmes organised in Johor this year.
“One of the main initiatives of PJRM this year is the Back-to-School programme, which helps parents and guardians obtain school necessities at more affordable prices in preparation for the 2026 school session, while supporting consumer well-being in Johor,” she said after officiating the PJRM Back-to-School and Christmas programme at Padang IOI Mall, Kulai here today.
Lilis Saslinda added that the Back-to-School programme will be implemented in phases, starting with an outdoor phase at Padang IOI Mall on Dec 20 and 21, followed by indoor phase one on Dec 27 and 28, involving 44 premises, including all Ten Ten and Green Point supermarkets across Johor.
The indoor phase two is scheduled for Jan 3 and 4 next year, covering 58 outlets, including all Ten Ten, Green Point, and Sakan supermarkets in the state.
The programme allows consumers to purchase school uniforms, shoes, bags, and stationery at discounted prices, ranging from 10 to 30 per cent lower than current market prices.
In addition, Johor KPDN is organising outdoor PJRM events in conjunction with Christmas at eight locations across Johor Bahru and other districts, ensuring essential goods remain accessible at affordable prices during the festive season.
“Johor KPDN remains committed to implementing ongoing initiatives that provide direct benefits to the people, in line with the Malaysia MADANI aspiration, which emphasises well-being and sustainability in managing the cost of living,” she said.
