Bank Islam Allocates RM500,000 To Support MADANI Adopted Schools Initiative

08/07/2025 08:22 PM

KOTA BHARU, July 8 (Bernama) -- Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam) has allocated RM500,000 for the implementation of the MADANI Adopted School initiative involving five selected schools in five states since the initiative was introduced by the MADANI Government in March.

Bank Islam Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Mohd Muazzam Mohamed said the allocation covered one school each in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, and Melaka.

The schools involved are SK Langgar in Kota Bharu, Kelantan; SK Taman Datuk Harun 1 in Petaling Jaya, Selangor; SK Batu Rakit in Kuala Terengganu; Sekolah Pendidikan Khas Melaka; and SMK Peramu Jaya in Pekan, Pahang.

“The allocation is based on each school’s needs, including upgrading infrastructure, providing digital learning resources, and improving air conditioning systems to create a more conducive and relevant learning environment in line with current digital education requirements,” he told reporters after the 2025 Bank Islam Dialogue Programme here today.

Media reports previously stated that the government aimed to designate 500 schools as adopted schools through partnerships with corporate companies and government-linked companies (GLCs), in an effort to bridge the education gap by matching schools in need with resource-equipped organisations.

Meanwhile, commenting on the issue of online banking fraud, Mohd Muazzam reminded the public not to share personal information with third parties, especially passwords, to ensure financial security.

“Banks have high levels of security, but all users, especially the elderly, must be more aware of threats from scammers.

“Do not share user IDs or passwords with third parties or unknown individuals. Change passwords regularly to reduce risk,” he said.

He added that Bank Islam had received several complaints regarding online fraud and had taken preventive measures, including establishing a special team to monitor fake websites and unauthorised links related to Bank Islam.
