LABUAN, March 31 (Bernama) -- Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah's (Gagasan Rakyat) Labuan division has intensified its community outreach efforts with the launch of its second corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, focusing on bedridden patients battling chronic diseases.
Division chief Rosli Awang Damit said the initiative, aimed at providing support to the most vulnerable members of society, commenced on Saturday (March 30), and is set to continue today.
"We have visited 13 bedridden patients in several villages, most of them suffering from chronic diseases, single mothers, and individuals with disabilities."
“During the visits, our team distributed food baskets and provided financial aid to the beneficiaries, aiming to bring joy and support during the holy month of Ramadan,” he told Bernama today.
Rosli emphasised the importance of extending a helping hand to those in need, underscoring the party's dedication to making a positive impact in the community.
He disclosed plans to extend their outreach efforts by visiting additional bedridden patients across eight villages today.
Gagasan Rakyat, a Sabah-based party led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor, established its presence in Labuan in October last year, with a significant increase in membership, surpassing 2,000 members across the island.
Looking ahead, Rosli disclosed the party's upcoming initiative, which involves hosting a breaking of fast event with the local media fraternity on April 1.
