VILNIUS (Lithuania) Sept 15 (Bernama) -- Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) is focusing on the development of technology and data to increase productivity and innovation, to ensure that its graduates are able to meet the needs of today's industry.
Its chancellor Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said UniMAP always implements various initiatives, such as providing various training and courses which focus on digital skills and technology.
“UniMAP always places emphasis on research and innovation which can play a role in the progress of society and the economy,” His Royal Highness said, during a visit to Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, here today.
He is currently leading the 17th UniMAP Knowledge Tour delegation to the Baltic countries, from Sept 10 to 17.
He also said that the university's International Business, Engineering Entrepreneurship and master’s degrees in Business Management were designed with the intention of producing global business leaders, who can function and compete effectively in today's market.
“The university's vision is to become an internationally competitive academic and research institution, with the important core values of knowledge, sincerity and excellence,” he said.
Earlier, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin witnessed the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement and the exchange of documents between UniMAP and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University.
UniMAP was represented by its vice-chancellor, Datuk Prof Dr Zaliman Sauli, while Vilnius Gediminas Technical University was represented by its rector, Prof Romualdas Kliukas.
Vilnius is the capital and largest city of Lithuania, located in the northeastern part of Europe. It has a population of 2.801 million, with Lithuanian as its official language.
