Malaysian Family Cheap Sales@DE Dagang programme records RM1.67 billion in sales value

KOTA BHARU, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Family Cheap Sale @ DE Dagang programme has recorded over RM1.67 billion in sales value, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

He said the programme had helped some 241,470 businesses of which 91,000 were run by women entrepreneurs.

"The Malaysian Family  Cheap Sale @ DE Dagang programme which was launched last month was an achievement.

"Currently, a total of RM58.65 million has been distributed to the people in the form of price cuts, rebates, discounts, registration and transaction fees," he told a press conference after  #SayaDigitalKeluargaMalaysia Tour@Kok Lanas programme, here today.

Elaborating, Annuar who is also the incumbent for Ketereh parliamentary, said that in addition to the Malaysian Family Cheap Sale @ DE Dagang programme, other activities such as eUsahawan, had also been able to encourage entrepreneurs to adopt digital technologies which had helped increase sales.

"Through the eUsahawan programme, the government managed to train over 450,000 Malaysians and subsequently generated a total income of RM1.05 billion," he said.

Meanwhile, Annuar said 995 participants had registered and 317 people were trained under the #SayaDigital Campaign programme in Kelantan, adding that the effort would continue so that more Malaysians would be tech-savvy.

"K-KOMM and the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) will continue to commit to implementing various digital programmes in Kelantan, especially in Kok Lanas.

"We are also prepared  to work with the Kelantan government to ensure a more effective programme impact in line with the Malaysian Family concept," he said.
