PADANG BESAR, Aug 6 (Bernama) -- Malaysians, especially the younger generation, need to appreciate the deeds and sacrifices of past fighters, said Perlis Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Azizan Sulaiman.
He said the struggles and sacrifices of the previous generations had enabled the people of the country to enjoy peace and prosperity.
The younger generation needs to instil the spirit of love for the country in appreciation of the sacrifices of the past fighters who had fought hard for the well-being of today’s generations, he said.
He said this at the Kembara Merdeka Keluarga Malaysia (KMKM) 2022 flag-off ceremony at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Raja Puan Muda Tengku Fauziah here today.
Led by Perlis Information director Azrul Hasan, the KMKM 2022 convoy that arrived in Perlis from Kedah yesterday was joined by 15 high-powered motorcycles and 20 vehicles.
Meanwhile, Azizan reminded the people not to forget the sacrifices made by frontliners from various agencies who are still working hard in the battle against COVID-19.
