KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 -- A large tree on Jalan Travers near the National Museum here, was uprooted injuring a motorcyclist and damaging a car and a motorcycle.
Brickfields district police chief, ACP Anuar Omar said the incident took place during a heavy rain with strong winds at 3.05 pm.
He said the tree hit a white Proton Saga with two foreign nationals and a motorcycle.
“The motorcyclist sustained a slight leg injury and was rushed to the hospital while the driver and passenger of the car were unhurt,’’ he said in a statement tonight.
Meanwhile, the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre, in a statement, said it received an emergency call on the uprooted tree at 3.21 pm and immediately dispatched a team to the scene.
According to the statement, the fire team headed by operations commander senior officer Md Izzat Ahmad found that a tree had fallen on a Proton Saga and a LC 135 Yamaha motorcycle.
”The firemen arrived at the location and proceeded to cut the tree and clearing it from the road,’’ said the statement.
