KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 -- The Social Security Organisation (Socso)’s benefits helped to alleviate the burden of the widow of former TV3 cameraman Mohd Rodzee Hamzah who died on Monday of a heart attack.
Anisah Ahmad, 43, received a funeral benefit of RM2,000 and a survivor’s pension benefit presented by Kuala Lumpur Socso director Salijan Saigon at her home in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, here, today.
Salijan said that through Socso’s Prihatin Squad, he had reviewed Mohd Rodzee’s contribution information and found that the deceased was eligible to receive benefits from the organisation, namely the funeral benefit and survivor’s pension.
“The payment (survivor’s pension) will be received by the deceased’s widow all her life and all the payments will be credited to her account,” he told Bernama.
Meanwhile, Anisah was thankful and grateful to Socso for contacting her to hand over the benefits.
“I will like to thank Socso for its swift action in granting me the aid within a few days. This indirectly helped to reduce my family’s burden,” she said.
Mohd Rodzee, 48, died of a heart attack at his home in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, around 8.30 pm on Monday. He leaves behind three children, namely Damia Saffiyah, 14, Ariff Rayyan 10, and 1 year and nine months old Darwisy Razayn.
