MELAKA, May 22 -- The Melaka government today launched the ‘Bantu Melaka’ application as part of efforts to ensure aid to the needy is channelled in a fair, transparent and systematic manner.
Chief Minister Datuk Sulaiman Md Ali said the application, aimed at preventing leakages in the aid distribution process, was developed by a group of researchers from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) with the cooperation of Melaka ICT Holding Sdn Bhd (MICTH) and the Melaka Islamic Religious Council (MAIM).
“The is a smart partnership and social responsibility venture between UTeM and the state government and we hope it will help manage, monitor and record the aid distribution process, especially in disaster or difficult situations such COVID-19, floods, fire and so on.
"The launch of this application is timely and I hope those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic will be assisted as soon as possible without anyone being left out in the process,” he told reporters after launching the application here today.
Besides checking on the status of their aid applications, the public can also use the ‘Bantu Melaka’ application to make donations through the ‘crowd donation’ feature.
The application can be found on both Apple AppStore and Google Play Store beginning May 29.
