Public encouraged to contribute to ‘Give with Ikhlas' campaign

KUALA LUMPUR, May 10  -- Members of the public are encouraged to donate towards the ‘Give with Ikhlas’ campaign, a public digital donation initiative that offers a transparent, safe, and secure platform for individuals or organisations to help others in need during Ramadan.

Executive Chairman of AirAsia Group, Datuk Kamarudin Meranun said as of now, the campaign has provided basic necessities and meals to over 26,650 individuals and 5,200 families, including 1,700 Orang Asli families in Pahang last week.

“We hope to continue this effort by expanding the efforts to Indonesia, the Philippines and other countries, with the right people and support, Insyallah. In this holy month, I would like to encourage everyone to remember and help the people who are less fortunate, and play our part to help others in one way or another,” he said in a statement today. 

The campaign was initiated by Ikhlas, a brand new line of business under AirAsia.com that mainly caters to Muslim communities around the world by providing unparalleled access to faith-based practices. The campaign will continue post-COVID-19 and after the month of Ramadan to further help those in need.

Kamarudin today raised an additional RM25,000 for the campaign via his first Instagram Live session, bringing the total collection to RM775,748 at 6 pm.
